BE launches the first in a series of free guides
How to Start Eventing - everything you ever wanted to know
about affiliated Eventing in the UK!
As part of its ongoing education and training initiative and
aim to get more riders into affiliated sport, British
Eventing has launched the first in a series of free training
guides.
How to Start Eventing
is a colourful, fully illustrated 30 page booklet that
covers how to prepare and train for your first event, what
you and your horse should wear for all three phases, how to
enter and choose your first event and much, much more.
“How to Start Eventing
is intended for newcomers who want to give the sport a try.
Maybe they have show jumped or taken part in hunter trials
before and now want to take the next step,” explains BE’s PR
and Communications Manager, Liza Randall.
“There is so much interest in our sport at a grassroots
level, with increasing demand for BE80(T) and BE90 classes.
And whilst we want to encourage more riders into our sport,
we recognise that with that comes a responsibility for
education and training.
“Feedback following our BE80(T) classes show that the
on-site training is really appreciated, so we are working on
that to put on more specific training days, but at the same
time competitors have asked for more basic advice on
Eventing, so this booklet will help plug that gap.”
The How to Start
Eventing guide is available now for reference or
to download via the homepage of the BE website at
www.britisheventing.com. You can also pick up a copy
from the BE stand at Blair Castle International Horse Trials
in Scotland in August, Blenheim Palace International Horse
Trials in Oxfordshire or the Land Rover Burghley Horse
Trials in Lincolnshire, also in September.
